
The Government has been urged to intervene in a pay dispute involving thousands of health and social care workers.
They’ve threatened to take indefinite strike action from the 17th of October
The Labour Party says the failure of government to engage with community workers is a dereliction of duty.
Party spokesperson on Health Duncan Smith says ”the Government has made no effort to end the dispute.”
Up to 5,000 workers have voted to strike indefinitely from October 17th unless their pay is brought to a level where it is comparable to the public sector.
The latest news today October 17th is that talks will begin this afternoon from 2pm at the WRC with government and union officials ahead of tomorrows planned indefinite strike.
